My name is Gamander López and I am a wildlife filmmaker and photographer from Germany.

I like to spend most of my time in nature to search for special encounters with wild animals in their habitats. No matter if it is a little mouse or a big bear, I’m fascinated with all animals and I want to capture the beauty I see in them.

I was born in 2002 and my mother always went outside with us and so I became fascinated with nature and wildlife from very early on. I got my first camera when I was 10 years old and I immediately  started taking pictures of animals. Very quickly I also got into filmmaking and created little documentaries about all the animals I met. Since then, I have never stopped learning everything possible about animal species, their behaviour and how to capture it best. Meanwhile, my short films have been screened at a number of national and international film festivals and I have been so lucky as to be awarded with several prizes for my work.

In the beginning of 2020 I started posting short behind the scenes videos of my work first on Tiktok and then also on Instagram and Facebook and over the years my accounts have grown. Today I have a community of over 12 Million followers across the platforms and I am very thankful for all the support I receive. Working together with brands like Jack Wolfskin and Sony gives me the financial freedom to put all my time and energy into my passion. I want to show people the beauty of nature and inspire them to also go outside and explore what should be protected for the future.

Aside from social media I also work as a camera operator for natural history films. In 2023 and 2024 I have been in Finland for several months filming species like Siberian flying squirrels, brown bears and wolverines for an ongoing production of wildlife filmmaker Oliver Goetzl.

In September 2024 I released my first book „Moments in Nature“ that I wrote together with my sister Una López for the German publisher Kosmos.
